    The original Dick’s Drive-In location opened in January 1954 on NE 45th street in Wallingford. The founders Dick Spady, Warren Ghormley and Dr. B.O.A. “Thom” Thomas opened this and four additional locations in Seattle between 1954 and 1974: Broadway (1955), Holman Road (1960), Lake City (1963), and Queen Anne (1974).

    The Spady family bought out the other two partners in 1991. The first new Dick’s location in 37 years opened in Edmonds in 2011 after a customer vote on the location, followed by others over the years: Kent (2018), Crossroads in Bellevue (2021), Federal Way (2023), Everett (2025).

    Dick’s Drive-In’s RoundUp for Charity program has raised near three and a half million dollars for nine local charity partners including Compass Housing Alliance, Mary’s Place, FareStart, Cocoon House, First Place, Operation Nightwatch, ROOTS Young Adult Shelter, St. Martin de Porres Shelter, YMCA Social Impact Center.

BIOGRAPHY

Jasmine Donovan is the President and CEO of Dick’s Drive-In Restaurants. As a granddaughter of one of the founders and namesake, Dick Spady, she has worked for the business off and on since she was 16 years old and started working full-time on the executive team in 2013. Jasmine stepped into the role of President when her father, Jim Spady, retired in late March 2019. Jasmine is on the Board of the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, the Rainier Club and Evergreen Operating Company. Jasmine was recognized by the Puget Sound Business Journal as a Woman of Influence in 2019.

Jasmine graduated from Hillsdale College with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Chemistry in 2006. She joined the Navy after college and was assigned as an instructor at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command in Charleston, SC. During her service she was the Command Public Affairs Officer, earned her master training specialist certification, and was the Division Director of the enlisted physics teaching division. While in Charleston, Jasmine earned her Masters in Business with an emphasis in Finance at Charleston Southern University.

Jasmine currently resides in North Seattle with her husband and two sons.
