Marina Freeman is a first grade student at Christ the King Elementary School in NW Seattle. Holman Road is her favorite Dick’s Drive-In. It’s in her neighborhood after all. She visits often with her mom Heidi and dog Skeeter.  Her favorite Dick’s order is a Hamburger and Fries.  Skeeter gets fries too!

Greg Swanson is a retired Boeing computer support technician and lifelong Dick’s fan.  His poster is a conglomeration of all the Dick’s Drive-Ins. “It’s not one particular Drive-In, it takes parts from all,” says Swanson.  “It’s not a literal rendition.  If you want that, take a picture. Art isn’t literal, it’s meant to invoke a feeling, a memory of what was.  Swanson thinks  that “even though it’s not a particular drive-in, people will still say, ‘Yeah! I always park right there!”

An avid distance runner, Greg and his wife Jenny maintain their slim physiques through regular exercise and regular stops at Dick’s.  “Many generations of our family have been coming to Dick’s,” comments Swanson. “In fact my brother used to be a commercial fisherman in Alaska. His crew’s first stop after Sea-Tac was Dick’s Drive-Ins.  They would fill up on burgers, fries and shakes, then life could resume.”
